Artist's Description
40 x 40 x 1.5 inches large original oil painting of a winter landscape with birch trees and deer. It is semi abstract in style. A white albino deer stag stands regarding us from behind the colourful birch trees. Behind him in the distance is the suggestion of a frozen stream and a low winter sun casting blue shadows through the trees. The stag is pink and white and well camouflaged against the snow behind him making him appear more fabian than deer usually do. I painted this because the colours of the English landscape in December are quite muted and dull compared to the other seasons. I wanted to see what would happen if I artistic licensed the colors a bit and am happy with the result especially the touches of bright pink on the trees.
About Gill Bustamante
I am a professional artist based in Sussex and I paint large original landscape and seascape paintings in oil on canvas. I am inspired by the patterns of nature and the energy, colours and spaces of the landscapes and animals around me. I like to think that...
